Privacy policy
This policy explains what information Office4Day processes when you use the website, and how optional analytics works.
Last updated: 1 August 2026
1. Who we are
Office4Day (“we”, “us”) is a web product that helps people find laptop-friendly places such as cafés, libraries, restaurants, hotels, hostels and bars. The service is available at office4day.com and related deployments.
For privacy questions, contact us at privacy@office4day.com. Operator identity details are also summarised in our Legal notice.
2. What this product does
Office4Day shows a map and place listings, lets you search by area, apply filters, optionally use browser geolocation, and open directions in Google Maps. Venue content is provided for informational purposes.
3. Data we process
3.1 Data you provide indirectly while using the site
- Technical data needed to serve pages (for example IP address handled by hosting providers such as Vercel, and standard server logs).
- Preference stored on your device for analytics consent (accepted or declined).
- If you allow it, your browser may share approximate location with the app so we can sort places by distance. Coordinates stay in your browser session and are not sent to our analytics tools.
3.2 Optional product analytics (only with consent)
If you accept analytics, we use PostHog to collect coarse product events (for example that the landing page was viewed, that explore was opened, that filters were applied, or that a place was opened). Events use place identifiers already published on the site (such as place id, slug and type).
We intentionally do not send:
- names, emails or other contact details
- search text or typed addresses
- precise latitude/longitude, map centre or GPS coordinates
- contents of form fields
- session recordings
3.3 Third-party services
- Hosting / delivery: Vercel (and related infrastructure) to serve the website.
- Venue database: Supabase to store and deliver place listings.
- Geocoding: MapTiler Search API (server-side) to turn location searches into map areas. We do not store your search history as an analytics identity profile.
- Maps: MapLibre with OpenFreeMap-style tiles in the browser.
- Directions: links open Google Maps in a new tab under Google’s terms.
- Analytics (optional): PostHog, only after you accept analytics.
4. Why we process data (purposes & legal bases)
- Provide the service (show places, map, search, filters): legitimate interest / performance of a requested service.
- Security, stability and abuse prevention on hosting infrastructure: legitimate interest.
- Optional product analytics to improve Office4Day: your consent. You may withdraw it at any time.
5. Retention
Consent preference remains in your browser until you clear site data or change the preference. Analytics events (if accepted) are retained in PostHog according to our PostHog project settings and applicable law. Hosting logs follow the provider’s retention practices.
6. Your rights
Depending on your location (including the EU/EEA and Spain), you may have rights to access, rectify, erase, restrict or object to certain processing, and to withdraw consent. You may also lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority (in Spain, the AEPD).
To exercise rights related to Office4Day, email privacy@office4day.com.
7. Cookies and similar technologies
See our Cookie policy for details. Essential storage may be used for basic site function. Analytics cookies/storage are used only if you accept analytics.
8. Children
Office4Day is aimed at adults looking for places to work. It is not directed at children.
9. Changes
We may update this policy as the product evolves. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do.
